Michael Matson is a writer living in Morelia,Mexico. He has a journalism degree from the University of Washington in Seattle, where he lived for many years.

Many of his summer months were spent on a small Pacific Northwest island, not far from the picturesque town of La Conner, Washington. Both locations, and Bainbridge Island,a thirty-minute ferryboat ride from Seattle, play significant roles in his Treat Mikkelson mysteries.
